This weekend Sidney and I camped at Estes Park (I thought it was in Rocky Mountain National Park but it turns out it is a tourist trap next to the park!) We both wish that we had done better research and camped in the park.

We hiked Sunday afternoon and took the Bear Lake, Nymph Lake and Dream Lake trails. It was a great hike, very scenic and a pretty easy trail. Now that I have an annual pass I'll be able to explore all the trails! Sid and I made a pact to make it to the top of Long's Peak by his 16th birthday.

The Taste of Puerto Rico was this past weekend! It was great to enjoy the things I miss most about New York: diversity, good food and good music. (Not that Denver doesn't have any of that, it is just has been harder to come by!)

Tony made me promise to start blogging on the site. So, I thought I would add pics of the veggies growing the garden. This year I am stepping it up after a not so successful harvest last year. Turns out the high desert is not the best place to grow many, many types of plants since the soil is mostly clay. I had to augment the soil's ph level by adding tons of peat moss (and a bit of miracle gro - otherwise totally ORGANIC!)
