DOM Special Events

We host a live music event every First Friday of the month, an Anniversary party/fundraising event every December, as well as various special events throughout the year.

There are two categories of volunteer help that we need within each one of our Special Events. These are:

1. Un-Certified volunteers:

a. Still Photographer: take digital still photographs of the entire event, including all bands/acts that are on stage, any interviews with guests, all volunteer & staff associated with event

b. Help set-up before event, which includes: set up food, drink & Tshirt tables, help hang banners, make & hang signs, other various tasks

c. Sit at either the food, drink or Tshirt tables

d. greet all visitors, answer questions, help show around building

e. go out to the Santa Fe street & corral people into coming over to our building to see what is going on over here!

If volunteering with us doing any of the above tasks sounds like a good place to start for you, please fill out the online Volunteer Registration Form and indicate on the form that the un-certified special events tasks are what you would like to sign up for. We will contact you.

2. Certified volunteers:

Volunteers who wish to help out in the Studio and/or Production departments must first become certified by either taking our classes or testing out of them.

Once you're certified, you can assist in various aspects of the studio and production fields. Here are a few examples that are available outside of our special events:

  1. Logging and digitizing of all tapes/footage from cameras
  2. Editing of video projects
  3. Volunteer as crew/PA for producers shows.
  4. Help check in/out all equipment
  5. Help maintain/order/repair all equipment
  6. Be a PA for in-studio shoot

Once you are a certified volunteer, and you would like to help out with our special events, you would be able to help with the following tasks:

1. help our Station Director set up/break down the stage for the bands & live interviews

2. run the B-roll camera during live event, capturing visitors, volunteers, staff and performers throughout the night

3. run one of the in-studio cameras during live performances

4. help run the control panels within the control booth during live performances

If the above tasks sound like something you would like to get involved with, and you are already certified through one of our classes, please fill out the online Volunteer Registration Form and indicate the CERTIFIED special events tasks are what you would like to sign up for.
