We are committed to fair exchange of labor for goods/services at Denver Open Media. Currently our policy is that we expect a certain amount of volunteered hours from everyone, so we do not give credit for the first 20 hours per year.
After that, any volunteered hours can add up to reduce your annual membership cost by as much as 50 percent.
Therefore, for a Programming membership, a volunteer would need to volunteer the standard 20 hours, and then with an additional 10 volunteer hours, the membership cost is reduced to $37.50.
For a Field, Editing or Studio membership, a volunteer would need to volunteer the standard 20 hours, and then with an additional 22 volunteer hours, the membership cost is reduced to $87.50.
For an Unlimited membership, a volunteer would need to volunteer the standard 20 hours, and then with an additional 32 volunteer hours, the membership cost is reduced to $125.00.
For an Organizational Membership, a volunteer would need to volunteer the standard 20 hours, and then with an additional 125 volunteer hours, the membership cost is reduced to $500.
We do not offer volunteer-exchange for class costs, in that classes can already be subsidized with scholarships.
