There are millions of videos on the web. Learn how to make your videos get noticed! The Web Video Class for Nonprofits will show you how your organization can effectively distribute your videos via sites like YouTube, TubeMogul, Denver Open Media, Facebook and your own website or blog.

Tentative Outline:

  • Watch and discuss examples of successful web videos
  • Share examples of our favorite new media technologies/discuss the current online environment we live in
  • Share organizational video projects – allow for discussion/feedback
  • Compression/conversion instruction
  • Set-up online video accounts, i.e. YouTube, TubeMogul, archive.org, Denver Open Media
  • How to use video responses to your advantage
  • Presentation on the Long Tail Theory
  • The value of Blogging, including tips and techniques.  Have users set-up a blog on Blogger.com
  • Group discussion on what’s next?  How can you continue using the resources and facilities at Denver Open Media to increase your visibility in the community?

This will be a hands-on course and enrollment is limited to 10 students; sign-up early

Cancellation Policy: Students who have paid in advance are entitled to a full refund if they cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the class. They may alternatively choose to transfer their registration fee to a different class, if space is available. Students who cancel less than 24 hours before a class and students who don't show up will not be entitled to a refund, and transfers will only be approved at the discretion of Denver Open Media. This policy also applies to members signing up using free classes included in their organizational membership.

Minimum Enrollment: Minimum enrollment for certification classes is 4 pre-paid students. In the event that minimum enrollment is not met, a class will be canceled and students who have already registered will be contacted at the phone number they provided when registering. They will be entitled to a refund or,if they choose, the registration fee can be transferred to a different open class.
